Hotel & Casino Complex
For clean eating, drinking and entertaining areas, point type smoke detectors would be correctly specified but what about the other areas….such as ----------Service ducts, mains power supply cable trays, floor/ceiling voids and similar areas. In these areas the use of this detector is not recommended. Faulty or slow operation and high maintenance costs would be associated with its use. The same could be true within hall ways/passages/corridors where air pressure can hold smoke at low level - preventing it from reaching the ceiling mounted detector -with the end result being failure to annunciate an alarm condition.
PROLINE Linear temperature sensing may be installed within dirty, dusty, damp and corrosive areas and those of high electrical (EMI) or radio interference (RFI) without fear of high maintenance requirements or faulty operation. As a continuous detector in the form of a cable it can be installed at low level i.e. around door frames and above skirting boards and also gives the identification of the location at which the alarm has been detected.
If specified as the wiring for manual call point devices, linear temperature sensing system provides two services:
1. The electrical supply to the manual call point devices on the fire protection system
2. An extra detection capability at virtually no additional cost to the end user.
Within a Hotel or Casino complex the following are just SOME of the risk areas that are protected by linear heat detection.
- LIFTS/ELEVATOR SHAFTS
- DUCTS - VENTILATION/EXTRACTION/CABLE
- FALSE FLOORS/CEILINGS
- KITCHENS - COOKER HOODS
- ELECTRICAL CUPBOARDS
- STORAGE ROOMS
- REFUSE AREAS
